How can i convert my companies PDF docs for SEO?

We are a large law firm and have lots of documents that are in PDF format. i recently got my management excited over putting our documents on the net for better search engine optimization but it was the biggest mistake. Can't seem to find a way. Willing to buy available software............pls help
